ACHIEVING GOVERNANCE ACROSS DATA DOMAINS
aiDataWorks Provided Custom metadata scanners, Architecture guidance, Upgrade, Configuration, Smoke testing and rollout support to address lack of governance between legacy Mainframe cobol files and a state of the art HDFS based landing zone. The customer is a large, long standing tier 1 health insurance provider. As such it has multiple locations throughout the United States, with different environments and frameworks in place. Some of those, the most challenging ones, are mainframe based. Despite the technology being old, the vast installed base does not allow it to be removed. The organization was in critical need of making sure that governance is maintained not only post ingestion but rather all the way to the source. The customer had already an initial installation of Informatica Data Catalog when we stepped in, however it was not configured, smoke test, and surely not live. It also did not address the reason it was put in place: to allow the technical & business stakeholders to gain insight into lineage, impact of the incoming & resident metadata. As such our work there became strategic to the organization.
